Andrew has faced a tough 24 hours with a Full gale blowing.  He had to hove to for the most of this time.  He waited out the gale hoping he would find a useful Westerly wind for a while at the end of it.  The Westerly he was waiting for lasted all of one hour and brought with it a very confused and lumpy sea – it was “horrible”.

So not much headway has been made during last night and today, but they are sailing again now.  With three reefs in the sail they are making a course just South of West which is really fine and feeling much more useful.
